Macintosh Advocate 蘋果麥金塔技術倡導者

Amongst others, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak created a personal computer revolution with the introduction of the Apple Macintosh in 1984. This would be a computer “for the rest of us”. The intuitive interface, easier to use for commoners, democratised technology and made it more accessible.

David Feng started using the Mac in 1991, settling on a more innovative, productive, and safer platform. Throughout the 1990s, however, Microsoft would eclipse Apple through its Windows 95 operating system, with significant parts “copied” from the Macintosh operating system.

A high school student then, David started on-campus and online communities aiming at promoting the Mac, eventually taking it to Beijing and creating, in March 2002, the Beijing Macintosh User Group. It successfully advocated for the first Apple Store in Beijing and better support for China-based Mac (and other Apple technology) users.

The great leader Steve Jobs passed away in autumn 2011, but by this time, Apple was firmly back in the black. In the era of social media, David continues his advocacy of the Macintosh platform through continued usage and the creation of new, innovative projects on the macOS and other Apple technology platforms.
